A Caring Community Where God's Love is Shared
Welcome to College Park Baptist Church! Based in Danville Virginia and founded in 1890, we are an open, inclusive, dedicated, and inviting congregation that is actively involved in worship and service to this community. Small in number, we come together to worship, praise, pray, study, fellowship, and work.
College Park Baptist began its 130 year mission as Lee Street Baptist Church which grew out of a mission Sunday School organized in May 1890 on the southwest corner of Lee Street and Berryman Avenue. This meeting was the result of 11 years of consecrated planning. The small group first met in a tent which was furnished and “paid for by the young people of First Baptist Church, Danville.”
Today, this small church has impacted the lives of the thousands of men and women, boys and girls who have gathered to worship God and to minister to this community. With God’s help, the best is yet to come.
